Conjurer and inventor Neville Maskelin ripped off a public demonstration, where John Fleming showed allegedly secure wireless data transmission ( Marconi ), sending insulting messages to Morse code, which were highlighted on the screen in front of the public.

Polish cryptographers Marian Adam Rejewski , Heinrich Zygalsky , Jerzy Rozhitsky hacked into Enigma

Alan Turing , Gordon Welchman , Harold Keane jointly developed Bombe (named after dessert from Bombe glacée ice cream), an Enigma hacking machine that bruised the cipher keys and tried to decrypt the message if the structure of the decrypted message or part of the plaintext CWE-326 were known.

John Draper (Captain Crunch), along with a friend Joe Ingressia ( Joybubbles ) hacked phones using a toy whistle out of a box of cornflakes.
