International Space Apps Challenge

The International Space Apps Challenge is a 48-hour international hackathon that brings together specialists from various fields such as scientists, designers, engineers, programmers and students to develop solutions to global problems proposed by NASA and their partners.
The event combines the principles of openness, voluntary participation and cooperation, using available data and technologies supplied by NASA, talent, and the skill of volunteers from all over the planet to advance the exploration of outer space and improve the quality of life both on Earth and outside of it.
Using open data and API, it is proposed to solve more than 40 global tasks in 5 directions aimed at improving the life of mankind both on earth and beyond its limits. (Some of the tasks were translated into Russian by student forces, although more translations are waiting for their editing and re-publishing)

This year, the date coincided with the anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s flight into space. Worldwide, Yuri's Night will be held and, probably, one of the best ways to celebrate this holiday is to come to Space Apps or participate in it remotely (if you live far from St. Petersburg or Ivanovo ) and show that we have much to be proud of not only in past but also in the present.
On behalf of the organizers of local events, we invite all interested (and I urge, especially students) to come and take part. To do this, just register, specify one of the venues and choose the most interesting topic for you. It is worth noting that in St. Petersburg, Space Apps starts on the 11th in the evening, and in Ivanovo on April 12 in the morning.

International Space Apps Challenge in Ivanovo

In Ivanovo, the event is held at the base - Institute of Management, Finance and Information Systems of Ivanovo State University of Chemical Technology . The firm is the official partner. .

This year, a large number of participants are expected: teams from various universities: IGKTU, Energo University, IGPTU, participants from YSU, teams and participants Akvelon and Akvelon Yaroslavl , a team from Social Quantum and participants from other universities and organizations.
Judging by the results of the preliminary planning of the event, the main focus for Space Apps in Ivanovo will be robotics, although there are absolutely no restrictions on the choice of direction.

Last year, on the basis of IGKTU, this event was already held, which is briefly described . But to attract attention and dilute the dry text, I leave here a couple of photos.





For those who doubt whether or not to participate (especially students), I would like to say that the past event was extremely interesting and useful, and sometimes very funny. Therefore, we once again urge everyone to come and take part, to get a new, and in some places invaluable experience, and to celebrate cosmonautics day with hard work.
In conclusion, I would like to express my gratitude to all those who expressed their desire (and to those who signed up, special thanks to) to take part in the event and try to make our world a little bit better.
