AMD fans are jubilant! :) Today, the company introduced the Radeon R9 295X2 dual-processor graphics accelerator with the code name Vesuvius. According to the source, this is the most high-performance video card on the market that can be purchased today.
The video card is based on two 28-nm Hawaii chips, on the architecture of Graphics Core Next (GCN). The total amount of transistors is 12.4 billion.
Each of the graphics chips uses 4 GB of GDDR5 memory with a 512-bit bus, and the total memory capacity is 8 GB. The core frequency is 1018 MHz, the memory frequency is 5000 MHz.
AMD reports that the performance of the Radeon R9 295X2 reaches 11.5 teraflops, which is about 11 trillion operations per second!
To cool the video card, a new hybrid system was created. So for each graphics chip uses its own waterblock. The manufacturer promises low temperature and low noise, coupled with stable performance.

It is particularly interesting that the Radeon R9 295X2 allows you to run games in 4K resolution, which opens up new perspectives in the use of high-definition monitors and televisions.
The accelerator will go on sale until the end of April at an estimated price of $ 1,500. Let's hope that the price will fall soon.
UPD. In the comments, many compare the Radeon R9 295X2 ($ 1500) with the GeForce GTX TITAN Z ($ 3000) with 12 GB of GDDR5 memory and a theoretical performance of ~ 8 teraflops. I give a link to the comparison of
