Windows 8 on Intel Galileo now, for free already in the plans of Microsoft!

Yesterday, April 2, a landmark, in our opinion, event occurred at the Microsoft Build Developer Conference. Microsoft Executive Vice President Terry Myerson demonstrated the performance of the Windows 8.1 operating system on the Intel Galileo computer with the Intel Quark X1000 processor. During the presentation, the floor-mounted piano, operated by Galileo, was shown, as well as the close launch of a new software support program for Internet of Things under Windows - Windows on Devices .

Another good news, now for end users: Windows for intellectual things will be free . This is the intention of Microsoft; Of course, this does not mean immediate changes in the price list on Windows. There is also no doubt that the license for “Windows for the Internet of Things” will contain certain restrictions on the devices themselves and their use.

Thus, the “territory of Windows” now includes not only PCs and tablets, but also such miniature devices as Intel Galileo. Surely, now intellectual things will become even more diverse, but the enormous joint potential of Microsoft and Intel will certainly accelerate the development of this promising market.
