The most powerful booster in the world: a video of the SLS build process video
This is what SLS should look like.
SLS (Space Launch System) is an extra heavy booster currently being developed by NASA. According to the plan, this rocket should become the most powerful carrier rocket by the time of its launch in 2017. This rocket will "throw" into space a new manned spacecraft MPVC.
It is worth highlighting the “capabilities” of this launch vehicle: it can carry 70 tons of cargo into orbit in the basic version, and 130 tons in its enhanced version. One of the most interesting moments in all this is the assembly process of the finished rocket: it is assembled piece by piece, straight, as when playing LEGO. ')
But this large object will carry the launch vehicle, for the new project the crawler had to be upgraded to a payload of 8164 tons instead of 5440 tons.
And the promised video, with the model of the rocket assembly before launch:
As mentioned above, if everything goes according to plan, the first launch of a new super-heavy launch vehicle will occur in 2017. There is not much time left to wait.
