New CEO Mozilla has become the creator of JavaScript Brendan Ike

In a popular statement, Ike thanked Jay Sullivan for his contributions to Mozilla and the Internet, and noted that his leadership was essential to the success of the company and Firefox OS in particular. Sullivan, who has worked for six years at Mozilla, will leave the company after the transition.

Ike started working in Netscape in April 1995, where he created JavaScript. He later became one of the founding members of the Mozilla Foundation, which was isolated from AOL in 2003, after which AOL completely ceased the development of Netscape in 2007. Mozilla appointed Ike as Technical Director in 2005.

Mozilla in its press release stated that Ike “has deep knowledge in both technical and product areas, as well as about the web as a whole. His technological vision and general acumen have shaped not only Mozilla, but significant portions of the web over the past two decades. ”

As part of a staff reshuffle, Gong Li, who organized Mozilla China, will move to the United States and become Mozilla's chief operating officer, with cloud services, IT, Marketplace, Mobile & Research and Platform Engineering taking over his responsibilities. Mozilla's co-founder and Ike's longtime working partner, Mitchell Baker, will remain in the role of Mozilla's executive chairman.
