New York Times: NSA has had access to Huawei server hardware for several years

According to the authoritative publication The New York Times, the infamous NSA agency had access to the server hardware of the Chinese company Huawei. Ironically, in 2012, the US government published data that “backdoors” are being built into the Huawei equipment, which allow the Chinese government to track the data coming to the Huawei servers, no matter where they are. The company even had to almost completely withdraw from the US market due to the scandal that arose in connection with the publication of such information.

It turned out just the opposite: US public services had (and probably have) access to the Chinese company's telecommunications networks (as far as one can understand, access was to servers at the company's head office, and from here the NSA got access to other telecommunications nodes), which allowed they conduct remote work with Huawei server equipment. And the equipment is quite common: according to the company's management, Huawei devices "connect a third of the world's population."

In addition, the NSA, thanks to its virtual “spies,” tracked the communication of Huawei’s management representatives to prove the existence of a connection between individual representatives of Huawei’s management and the so-called People’s Liberation Army, a large hacker group in China. In addition to this organization, the NSA "led" almost half of all hacking organizations in China.

The NSA document received by journalists states: “Many of our target sites communicate using Huawei equipment. We want to be sure that we can use exploits for Huawei products, gaining access to the necessary networks. ”

In addition, the NSA documents said that the NSA planned to build backdoors into Huawei equipment sold abroad in order to gain access to all the telecommunications networks where devices from a Chinese company were used. It is not yet clear whether service plans have been implemented or not.
