Linkbombing Kommersant

The site of the publishing house Kommersant was the victim of a well-planned action to discredit - linkbombing (aka “ Google bombing ”).

The search term "assholes" in Yandex in the first position displays a link to the site of the publishing house "Kommersant". A similar request to Google yesterday as the first position also displayed a link to the Kommersant website (it is currently the third).

In addition, it significantly slows down the download of the publishing site due to numerous DDoS attacks on it.

I quote a note about this in Webplanet (to some extent telling the background of the situation):

Last week, the Kommersant publishing house website was already subjected to a DDoS attack, which was allegedly organized by the Nashi movement as revenge for the article “Ours became strangers”. [...] Simultaneously with attacks in early March, a spam mailing was conducted on the Runet on behalf of Kommersant. It advertised the action carried out by Nashi activists: they distributed or sold at the subway, as well as at the entrance to the publishing house, rolls of toilet paper, on which Kommersant's materials for February were reprinted. The rolls indicated the mobile number of Julia Taratuty, co-author of the note “Ours became strangers”.

Recall that on March 4, numerous young people who deny belonging to any commercial or public organizations offered rolls of toilet paper with firm merchant's firm sign and newspaper materials for free or for a nominal fee.

At first glance it may seem that this is a planned PR campaign of the publishing house itself (although the time has been chosen for it strangely: subscriptions to publications are carried out on the eve of the new year or the second half of the year). Similar opinions express some notes . However, a comprehensive assessment of the situation suggests, rather, the idea of non-competitive ways of dealing with a very freedom-loving publication, the former brainchild of Berezovsky (the participation of unidentified couriers in distribution suspiciously similar to the youth participating in Kremlin actions is especially significant).

What do you think about this?
