Oculus launches the new $ 350 DevKit Oculus Rift

The order of the new version of Oculus Rift, Development Kit 2 is open. On the official website you can order this set for $ 350, let me remind you that the previous version could be ordered for $ 300. Shipments for customers of the improved version are scheduled to begin in July 2014.

The new version has improved performance, updated design, and in general it is based on the prototype Crystal Cove, which was shown at the beginning of the year at CES.

The most important innovation of Development Kit 2 is to improve the screens, now the screen resolution for each eye is 960 × 1080 and they are made using OLED technology.

Also added an external depth camera, which allows you to more accurately scan the picture of the real world in front of the player and track movements. The case is changed, the new helmet is equipped with one output for a combined USB / HDMI cable, which at the end diverges in two, this solution reduces the number of cables extending from the helmet.
