Google acquires and closes Israeli service iRows

Google has acquired the iRows service, which provides online spreadsheet processing. The announcement of this is published in the blog developers service . The amount of the transaction is still unknown.

The free online editor iRows was created in Israel in early 2006. Its functionality actually repeats Google Spreadsheets - part of the Google Docs web service: creating and editing spreadsheets, exporting and importing to xls (MS Excel) format, collaborating and publishing the created materials.

Most likely, the creators of the service are invited to work at Google. It is known, for example, that iRows, unlike Google Docs, provided the ability to create diagrams. Perhaps this is what the Israelis will work on.

iRows will be available until the end of this year. During this time, its users are invited to transfer their materials to Google Docs.
