CubeStormer 3 collects the Rubik's Cube in 3 seconds
To be precise, in 3.253 seconds. Of course, none of the people can boast of such a result. A more or less similar record belongs to the predecessor of CubeStormer 3 - respectively, CubeStormer 2, which assembled the "cube" in just 5.35 seconds . By the way, before this record belonged to the same person, the Dutchman Mats Valk, who solved this problem in just 5.5 seconds. Honestly, I don’t know how much I need to train for this - in 5.5 seconds I’ll only turn a couple of faces, more or less meaningful :) There are even whole guides on how to build a Rubik's cube , but there’s little use for them.
For greater entertainment, an attempt to set a world record was made by the robot CubeStormer 3 at the festival The Big Bang Fair in Birmingham, on March 15. ')
To work with the "cube" project authors have provided four manipulators that were assembled from the Lego Mindstorm EV3 designer. The data processing is the responsibility of the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone with an eight-core processor.
The actions of the robot are accompanied by photographing (photographing the camera of the smartphone), and the images are then processed by the same smartphone. On the basis of the data obtained, a solution is formed, which the "hands" realize.
According to the developers, their project has not yet reached the limit of the possible, and in the future they plan to break their own record.
