Overview of the budget smartphone Highscreen Zera F

The standard situation now is the import of Chinese smartphones under Russian brands into the Russian market, while the design and stuffing of gadgets have already been stored in the “drafts” of a particular plant, and the craftsmen from Russia have just changed the color of the back panel. In the case of the Zera F, the manufacturer left this circuit and developed the phone from scratch, creating the design and selecting the right components. Externally, the phone turned out to be interesting, inside - not very powerful, but it costs only 3990 rubles.

Equipment

The smartphone comes in the usual for Highscreen packaging from recycled cardboard.

Headphones are suspiciously similar to Apple headphones. Not very comfortable.

And under the film - a bonus in the form of a protective film, without bubbles, glued at the factory. Or just when I sticking films appear bubbles?

Appearance

Zera F looks clearly more expensive than its price. Separate elements reminiscent of Sony Xperia and Nokia Lumia. The diagonal of the display is 4 inches, which is unusually small for me personally, but for iPhone 5 owners it is quite normal, although they are unlikely to entangle on an Android device. In the hand of the Zera F lies comfortably so that you forget about its price. In any case, to keep it nicer than my previous LG Optimus Black, and the build quality is better.

The exact dimensions of the Zera F are 123.8 by 63.1 by 9.9 millimeters.

Ergonomics

The phone fits comfortably in the hand due to the size and materials of the case. Using the on-screen keyboard and performing other actions is convenient with one hand, which is more difficult in the case of large phones — the HTC One X, for example, I often use two hands.



At the top there is a 3.5mm audio jack and a power button, at the bottom there is a microphone.





MicroUSB connector is located in the left side of the case, in the right - the paired volume control button.





On the back cover is a 5 megapixel camera and a flash, below is a speaker.





On the front side there are light and proximity sensors, a speaker and a front camera. Below the display are the touch menu buttons, home and back.



The back cover can be removed easily. Keeps without backlash and does not creak.





Under the hood is a battery, slots for two SIM cards and a microSD card. Without a card, working with the phone normally will not work, since the built-in memory is only 4 gigabytes - even the screenshots refuse to be saved. Unfortunately, the card is not bundled, so you have to buy more. The maximum supported capacity is 32 GB.



Battery capacity is 1 600 mAh.





As I wrote above - the build quality positively surprised for this price category.

Iron

For Zera F, we developed a motherboard design with the MediaTek MT6572 chipset (2 ARM Cortex-A7 cores + Mali-400MP graphics). The chipset works in conjunction with 1 GB of RAM. The smartphone works in 3G, equipped with a GPS antenna, two cameras - 5 and 0.3 megapixels. Do not forget to insert the microSD, otherwise the photo will not work. The phone supports two SIM cards and a microSD memory card up to 32 gigabytes.

The diagonal of the capacitive IPS display Zera F is 4 inches. Resolution - 800x480 pixels. It would be at least strange to wait for a display with such a resolution of an ideal picture, but it is quite bright. There are fingerprints on the glossy front side of the smartphone, so you will have to wipe it often.

Camera

The main camera without autofocus will fit only in order to take a photo for contacts on the phone. Here are a couple of examples of photos taken from a smartphone.

Performance

Dual-core MediaTek MT6572 gave Antutu Benchmark 10609 points. Not the best indicator, of course, but the Galaxy S2 is left behind.



You can play simple games, of course.



Moreover, Asphalt 8 was launched. The granularity on the screenshots was strong, but when working with a smartphone, it is not so striking.







Later I switched the quality in Asphalt 8 from “medium” to “high”. Brakes not found.

Smartphone for 3990 rubles

For 3990, the manufacturer offers a smartphone on the Android 4.2.2 OS, from which you can climb into the network and watch videos, read books, write-call, use mail and play not the most powerful toys. The camera is suitable only in order to photograph a colleague for contacts. I would love to buy such a smartphone as my first smartphone if she didn’t go with a huge Sony, or her daughter, if she wasn’t just six weeks old now. The filling for this price is decent, the screen is bright enough and does not cause rejection. Very pleased with the build quality and materials - Zera F is really nice to hold.
