Earlier on Habré already published news that the European Commission conducts proceedings with Google about in-game purchases of virtual things and abilities of characters, purchases made by children, and leading to many thousands of expenses, deducted from the card of parents. In addition to Europe, claims in relation to this type of shopping were filed in the United States.
Representatives of Google (and Apple, by the way, too) met with a special commission formed by the European Union to discuss possible ways to change the purchasing policy in the so-called freemium applications. So, shortly after this meeting, Google released an updated Google Play, with a new password protection feature.

This is another shopping option chosen by the user of the mobile device running Android. This option is recommended for all people who have advanced little players, kids, often resulting in a lot of father's and mother's money due to the acquisition of various kinds of virtual goods in freemium games and applications.

Previously, it was possible to select an option that leads to a password request for a purchase after 30 minutes have passed since the previous purchase. But, you know, the child could buy as much in these half an hour as the parents do not earn in six months. Now you can select the option that leads to a password request for each purchase, even if such a purchase is made a couple of seconds after the previous one.
By the way, as suggested in the comments, now, when installing the application, the presence of the In-App function of purchases is shown in the list of permissions.
Of course, there are other functions in the new version of Google Play (including the ability to self-update the market’s application upon user request), and this list of changes can be found
here .
