Why do we need remote presence robots?

In recent times, our company often faces misunderstanding on the Internet, why we need our robot Webot, how it differs from skype and who will buy it. In my post I will try to briefly explain these issues.
A remote presence robot is usually a fully human-controlled robot that may have an auxiliary autonomous mode, for example, to automatically return to the charging point. The main mode of operation of such a robot is human control! Our robot Webot is still completely human-controlled.

The main task of a remote presence robot is to give a person the opportunity not only to inspect the surrounding space, but also to move along it to create a more complete presence effect.
If a robot is used for communication, then with the help of a robot it is possible to communicate with several people at a meeting, as is done in “Ashmanov and Partners” CJSC. The main advantage over skype in this case is the ability to turn or drive up to the right person without assistance.
In our opinion, it is more promising to use such robots for remote inspection of any places. With the help of our robot, Webot, you can ride on a distant exhibition. This service was raised by our company at the exhibition Cebit 2014.
