Favorite to many users of Runet and Habr, the Lenta.ru edition lay from 11 am to noon. As the tape itself reported, it was not a block, but a
“hacker attack” .
What is connected with the "attack", it remains only to guess. In recent days, DDoS attacks on Russian resources have become frequent. It is enough to open the newsfeed for today - the
Website of the President of Russia due to a DDoS attack works intermittently , the
Website of the Bank of Russia is temporarily not working due to a DDoS attack .
It is possible that the fall of the site is due to the dismissal of the technical department in full force.
It may seem an interesting coincidence that the “attack” began almost immediately after the publication of the article (now unavailable) under the headline “Margarita Simonyan was ashamed of the bigmak eaten”.
A bit of history:
On March 12, after receiving a warning from Roskomnadzor, the shareholders of the publication decided to change the chief editor Galina Timchenko, who had led the editorial board since 2004. Lenta employees regarded such a decision as “manifestation of censorship”.
From the article on Lenta.ru
“It's a shame and ******” :
')
Warning "Lente.ru" - the first in the history of the publication - Roskomnadzor issued the morning of March 12. In an interview with one of the leaders of the Ukrainian nationalist movement Right Sector, Andrei Tarasenko (Ilya Azar, a special correspondent for Lenti.ru, took him in Kiev), officials found a link to third-party material —Dmitro Yarosh: Sooner or later, we are doomed to fight Moscow Empire. It was his Roskomnadzor considered extremist. Immediately after receiving the warning, the editors deleted the link.
On March 13, it was reported that Julia Minder was dismissed from the post of general director of Lenta.ru. Then it became known that out of 84 editorial staff
39 people decided to leave including the technical department (which, by the way, is
looking for work ).
Finally, I can’t help but give a link to the absolutely wonderful
Post of Love for Lenta.ru .
UPD: By 15:00 the site fell twice more. Now it works fine.
Habrayuzer
xbreaker notices that some news opened with an error 404.
An interesting comment is
bougakov here .
ksenobayt suggests that the Russian brunch Anonymus has already claimed responsibility for the attack on Lenta.ru.
