Service with an emphasis Comcava.com

I have long wanted to introduce you to my small project, Comcava.com.
Probably someone knew about the service in November last year, when it first became available on the network.

So why Comcava ?
Initially, the project was planned as an Internet service with the REST architecture, in order to enable real-time transfers. Actually, the Web interface is what is located at www.Comcava.com .
Translation is carried out in 13 languages, it is planned to add the "Russian-German" direction.


At the moment, on the service, you can register, upload an avatar, and chat with either an answering machine (to do this, click the exclamation mark):


either with someone online.

After you send the phrase, you will see the original message and its translation.
You can improve the translation of the phrase by clicking on it.

Of course, vandalism is likely, maybe someone will tell you how to deal with it? After all, knowing 13 languages ​​sufficiently for moderation of translations offered by users is beyond my power :)

If the service is inadvertently down, then the Internet channel is full, or the service is simply overloaded with requests, etc.
Initially, message delivery was organized using orbited , this is a well-scalable solution in the project did not stick, there were difficulties with transport in IE. As a result, the poll architecture was used (temporarily) to receive messages. In the future I plan to return to Orbited.

I think that there is an acute lack of jabber and icq support, so that existing contacts appear in the contact list. As soon as this can be done (the problem with setting up your jabber server, if anyone can help, I will be very grateful), then you can use icq.

Yes, I note that the translator in Google gtalk appeared after the start of the project. This to some extent affected the slowdown of work on the site.

Warning: for testing, I strongly recommend using Firefox .
