New successful test Morpheus

The Morpheus project, though slowly but surely, is moving forward. For the first time about this project became known in the summer of 2010. The goal of the project is to create a reliable, economical and “green” (as far as applicable to the current device) apparatus for reusable vertical takeoff and landing. The device is planned to be used in automatic mode for landing (and take-off) to other planets / asteroids.

By the way, in 2012 there was a failure, as a result of which Morpheus was wrecked. But now everything is fine, and after the planned, very important, testing apparatus, he sat in the designated area, having missed only 20 centimeters. By the way, this time the apparatus rose to a height of 180 meters (600 feet).

The test, Free Flight 8, was aimed at demonstrating the maneuver of the device, which helps to evade a certain danger over simulations of the surface of an alien planet.
