Adobe is changing the format of the source files

On March 6, one of the well-known figures of the RIA platform, Colin Moock , said in his blog that Flash CS4 will use not the old, closed file format FLA, but the new XFL.

XFL is essentially a zip archive in which project resources are located, and an XML instruction file. The openness of the format and the use of XML will allow working with files “manually”, and allows them to be generated by other programs or server scripts.

Colin also says, “ It would be very cool if Adobe released the XFL compiler in SWF with command line support, then developers could create their own tools using ActionScript. I would like to know who will be the first because of nostalgia, will make Flash 4 on AIR and ActionScript technologies? "

I'd add that I consider this a very good step by Adobe towards the openness of its products.
