Airbus will join the "space drivers"

It seems that space tourism will indeed become a reality - more and more companies are spending money on creating their own “tourist carrier”, which means that the owners of these companies are hoping for something. Anyway, now its plans to join the space tourism industry said (not the first time, really) and the company Airbus.

Back in 2007, this company launched its project to create a spacecraft that could go into low orbit. Since then, no one has spoken about this project. Up to this day.

Now the company has reiterated the project mentioned above. Moreover, it was announced not only about the possibility of implementing the project, but about the fact that a test launch of his ship would be held a little later this year, in the airspace of Singapore.



True, the launch will be held in a somewhat unusual way. First, it will be tested not a full-sized device, but its model, with a size of 1/4 of the planned one. In addition, the device will be lifted into the air by a helicopter to a height of 3 kilometers (10,000 feet), after which the model will be unhooked, and will go on landing under its own power, in the planning mode.

If all goes well, the next test will be conducted next year. As for the full-size spacecraft, it will be able to take on board four passengers. The ticket price for the passenger will be 200 thousand US dollars, as in the case of SpaceShip Two from Virgin Galactic.

As for the latter, the company is waiting for the decision of the authorities to obtain permission for such an activity as space tourism.

Well, as far as you can understand, Airbus expects to launch its own enterprise not earlier than next year, or even later.
