Tesla Motors Announces European Expansion Plan

On the eve of the Geneva Motor Show, the American company Tesla Motors announced a plan for large-scale business expansion in Europe.

Tesla intends to open more than 30 service centers and car dealerships on the continent. In addition, the company will continue to expand its Supercharger network of petrol stations. Now there are only 14 such stations, of which 11 are located in Germany and Norway. By the end of 2014, Tesla promises to increase their number several times and expand the “accessibility zone” to almost the entire territory of Western Europe.

For comparison, here is the coverage today.

But what is promised by the end of the year.

Model S cars can be recharged at Supercharger stations for free. So the map shows in what territory Model S owners can drive freely without worrying about paying for fuel.

There are no plans to expand to Eastern Europe. At least not this year.

In 2013, Tesla sold 22,477 cars worldwide. At the end of 2014, the company expects that the number of buyers in Europe and Asia will almost double American sales. For the UK, even released a modification of the Model S with the right wheel. And in Germany, they recently launched profitable leasing with Sixt: you can get a sedan for rent by paying about 7,000 euros, with subsequent monthly payments of around 550 euros (including tax refunds).

Last year, the Model S was recognized as the “car of the year” in Sweden and Norway, the “most stylish car” in Switzerland and won the prize of honor “Car of the Year” in Denmark.
