To the question of choosing a webcam

Faced the need to purchase a webcam for poppy. By my naivety I thought that it was enough just to buy and connect, but it turned out that this trick would not work with the cameras. It’s good that they threw a link to the macam website in time , where the drivers are collected, and there is also a list of cameras available for use with Mac OS X. I think someone can also be useful.

At the same time I would like to know who uses what cameras and how satisfied are they with their choice? Based on the answers, it would be possible to make a rating of webcams, to help other mac-users.
