MegaFon launched 4G +
Yesterday, February 25, 2014, MegaFon launched a new generation network in Moscow - LTE-Advanced 4G + with the world's fastest mobile Internet - up to 300 Mbit / s.
The network operates in the center of Moscow within the Garden Ring. Across Moscow, 4G + will start working by the end of the year.

The network is built on Huawei equipment. Now 4G + supports the only device - the router MegaFon Space (R300-1). It is sold in three flagship stores of MegaFon for 13280 rubles (11990 rubles router, 1290 rubles - the month of the Internet XL option).
At the press conference dedicated to the launch of the new technology, the download speed of the 1.5 GB file from FTP was demonstrated. The speed was 190 Mb / s (20.6 Mb / s). I specifically asked if an additional mobile base station or femtocell was installed. MegaFon representatives answered that nothing was installed additionally - a regular network is used.
Of course, the router is still quite expensive and the network size is limited, but this is only the beginning. Surely, in a year the network will grow significantly, devices supporting 4G + will be enough and their prices will not be higher than the prices of equipment with the support of regular 4G.
