IBM bought Cloudant - CouchDB-based DBaaS

On February 24, IBM announced the takeover of a private company from Boston, Cloudant.
Cloudant is designed to expand IBM’s own capabilities in Big Data, analytics, cloud computing and mobile device development.
It will also give a new impetus to the development of an open Apache CouchDB database and Cloudant's own fork, BigCouch.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
