For ten years, flash cards have grown a thousand times. SanDisk unveiled the world's first
128 GB microSD card at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona yesterday.
The format of flash cards microSD (TransFlash) appeared in 2005, less than ten years ago, when it took to make the cards small enough to fit in a mobile phone. SanDisk originally released 32, 64 and 128 MB models.
MicroSD is the smallest among all flash cards. For ten years, these flash cards have gained wide popularity and are now often used not only in phones, but also in larger gadgets, using adapters.

With 128 GB, the microSD SDXC card is close in capacity to many models of SSD-drives that are installed in laptops today, which even more erases the line between mobile devices of different classes.
SanDisk offers to install a card worth 149.5 euros in Android smartphones and tablets. In particular, the recently announced Galaxy S5 and Sony Z2 smartphones officially support cards of this size.
