Hello Ruby, or how to teach a child to program?

Good day,

We at the publishing house “Peter” thought that in Russia there is a catastrophic shortage of actual books on teaching children to programming. We want to turn to the community for advice and recommendations on this issue.

Question number 1. Which language do you think is best suited for teaching programming to children?
We are still inclined to Ruby and even have already looked after the book for translation (although it is not quite in the “childish” format, rather, for beginners in principle). Again, the successful experience of the Finnish programmer Linda Liukas, who has already collected $ 380 thousand on Kickstarter to publish the Hello Ruby children's book, partly confirms this version.

Among other Western books on this topic popular in the West, Python is leading, first of all, Python, in particular, one of the most well-known programming books for children's books of the spouses Sande Hello World is written on it.

Of course, there are also Basic for Russian children's IT literature, Basic and Pascal, but it seems to us that it is already boring to learn from them in the 21st century.

Question number 2. Which book would you recommend to publish?
(the option of reissuing the "Professor Fortran Encyclopedia" is not considered for objective reasons :)

By the way, the option “Publish my book” is considered quite seriously, we are waiting for your suggestions in the comments, in a personal message or on comp # piter.com.
