I apologize for such a loud title, but I can’t call it any other way. Today they wanted to take bills to extend the antivirus, and received stunning news. It turns out from January 1, 2014 in Belarus, any anti-virus products stopped selling and not only they.
I want to immediately note that I am not a lawyer and if I misunderstand something - let me know about it personally and I will correct the post.
And the thing is that on December 17, 2013, the President of the Republic of Belarus signed
Order No. 94 of the Operational Analytical Center under the President of the Republic of Belarus. On the list of technical regulatory legal acts interrelated with technical regulations')
In fact, there it is described that in order to sell something from this list, it is something that must first be certified in the Republic of Belarus. In fact, manufacturers wanted to chhat us all and to a “huge country” with a population of 9.5 million people.
So what is now declared illegal in Belarus:
- Any means of wiretapping and protection against wiretapping
- Means of cryptographic protection of information
- Anti-malware and anti-virus software
- Routers
- Site management systems
- Operating systems for use at government workstations in processing state secrets
- Other software, hardware and software information security
- Another couple of minor points.
For me personally, it remains incomprehensible a couple of questions:
- But what about operating systems with their information protection tools, firewalls, disk encryption, etc.?
- Who should certify open source software being developed by the community
- Should I, as a system administrator, put out my entire network, Drupal site, etc.?
- How can I be without anti-virus protection in my organization?
And now at the end of the second month of the order. Antivirus license ends in a month, and things are there.
Perhaps that's all. Thanks for attention. Kuplyaytse Belarusian
UPD_0 The user @Saldacenkaw advised to buy directly. After consulting with the accounting department, it turned out that such a purchase is possible but very undesirable. Suitable as a temporary solution.
UPD_1 Users
djdb ,
nuklearlord indicated where you can see whether a particular product is certified.
On the OAC website in the Register of Information Security Assets that have passed certification As far as I understand the situation, the database has been maintained since at least 2010, just since January 1, 2014, certification has become mandatory.
UPD_2 Today, 03/03/2014, 3 anti-viruses have already been certified in Belarus: Kaspersky, DrWeb, VBA32. We will wait for further developments.
