Syncml

Every modern person has a large variety of electronic devices, which he uses in various situations almost every day. These are phones, and PDAs, and of course PCs. All of them are certainly convenient and simplify our lives, but do they all use their devices 100%?

For example:
- How do you edit contacts on your phone?
- How do you drag contacts from phone to phone?
- can you, while at the computer view your contacts when the phone is not at hand?

Surely for many, these tasks still remain problems. And all this even when most modern phones support sync sync.

SyncML is a protocol that allows synchronization between a mobile device and an Internet server, and there are as many as 7 types of synchronization in the protocol (however, most servers only support a limited list). Using this protocol, you can (depending on the capabilities of your phone) synchronize contacts, calendars, notes, tasks, bookmarks, etc. And all this automatically and with the ability to edit via the web.

On the Internet there are a huge number of servers that support SyncML. Personally, I liked two of them - GSMsync.net and Scheduleworld.com . The first subdued its interface and free, and the second ability to synchronize with Google calendar. However, there are many other such servers, for example:
- gsmsync.ru - Russian analogue of gsmsync.net, which unfortunately decided to charge for its services
- www.goosync.com - also providing synchronization with gCal
- memotoo.com is an excellent server with the richest functionality for which the truth will have to pay.
