Space robot Robonaut will make a nurse

Now mankind has again begun to look into space, even if it is shown on the displays of its smartphones and tablets. Some countries are already planning to create settlements on the Moon / Mars, and not only countries, but also individual organizations and even individuals. Of course, there are many problems, and one of them is the lack of qualified medical service in the colonies of near and far space (subject to the presence of such colonies, of course).

Ideally, each colony should be staffed by various kinds of specialists, including physicians. But this is not always possible.

Practically every astronaut now is a wagon, which “is both a reaper, and a horse, and a igrets”, and the doctor is a mono-specialist who in most cases cannot be useful in other areas of the life and work of the colonists.

In general, one of the possible solutions to the problem is to teach the robot basic medical skills. If the colony is located not very far from Earth, then a qualified doctor, sitting in a comfortable chair, will be able to control the robot (for example, at the orbital station or on the Moon). In this case, the delay is not very high, and the doctor will be able to control the actions of his ward-robot.

The latter should be able to do something himself, so NASA is now trying to train its Robonaut in the skills of a nurse. Perhaps such robots will be in every colony, in the not too distant future.
