3D printer MATAERIAL learned how to print with metal

Long time already on Habré was published the news about the 3D-printer , which is able to print on weight, creating all sorts of shapes. Now, even more interesting news: this printer has learned to print not with plastic, but with metal, and with different types of metal.

This printer is called MX3D-Metal, and is a more advanced version of MATAERIAL.

As before, the base for the printer is an industrial manipulator, a robotic “hand”. A special system is adapted for the use of metals and their alloys, including aluminum, bronze, copper, steel and stainless steel.

Printer mode can be changed using different settings for different metals. Of course, it takes much longer to print metal products than to print the same product, only from plastic. And the integrity of the samples obtained is also not perfect. However, the initiative has been made, so that more advanced devices can be expected, which can be printed using metal rather than the usual plastic.
