What? Where? When?

On Friday, April 18, the JPoint JPO for Middle / Senior Developers will be held in Moscow . The program includes reports from leading experts representing Oracle, Odnoklassniki, Deutsche Bank, JetBrains, Devexperts, and others.

JPoint and JavaOne Russia

For several years in a row, Sun, and later Oracle, held Java conferences in Moscow and St. Petersburg that had several characteristic features: mass character, free of charge, and a large number of speakers from the organizing company. At the time of Sun, this conference was called Sun Tech Days, and at the time of Oracle it was divided into two: Java Day in St. Petersburg and JavaOne in Moscow.

This year, Oracle decided not to run JavaOne in Russia. In this situation, the Petersburg Java User Group decided not to abandon Russian Java developers and hold its own Java conference. As a result, on Friday, April 18, the second independent Java-conference will be held at the Slavyanskaya Hotel.

Java-hardcore, elbowed in blood!

All reports are technical. No marketing, no bullying! JPoint 2014 has a dozen reports, mainly in Russian. The conference is focused primarily on developers who are interested in how Java itself is structured, which is why the program contains more system reports (Java memory model, Concurrency, Performance, JVM device, etc.) rather than applied ones.

The JPoint conference is focused on Middle / Senior programmers. But how to separate Senior developers from Juniors? Firstly, we made the conference program quite complex. Junior developers are likely to understand little of most of our reports and therefore will not go to our conference. Secondly, we made the entrance fee. Someone will say that in the Java-world is not accepted, and in something will be right. But do not forget that Moscow is not a cheap city at all.

How much is opium for the people?

The starting price of a ticket with a dinner and a company mug-gift is 4,000 rubles. According to our estimates, so much Moscow senior programmer manages to earn before lunch . And the starting cost of a ticket without lunch and a mug, as well as the cost of an online broadcast , is generally only 2,000 rubles. Not bad, huh?
