The Internet is attracting more and more Russians
Over the past five years, the number of Russians who do not know what the Internet is has more than halved, sociologists at the Analytical Center of Yuri Levada told Interfax .
According to the results of the last survey, currently only 14% of the 1600 respondents admitted that they have no idea about the worldwide network, whereas in 2001 there were 34% of them.
According to Levada Center, over the same period, the number of Russians who almost constantly communicate with the world and get news via the Internet has increased from 4% to 17%.
Most often, in the past 30 days, managers and managers (60%), students and students (49%), specialists (32%), military and law enforcement officers (30%), entrepreneurs (29%) used the Internet. Men are 1.5 times more likely than women to communicate with the Internet, and the younger generation of Russians is 11 times more people older, sociologists said.
