BitTorrent will release a mobile application for organizing peer-to-peer video broadcasts

Not so long ago, Bram Cohen announced the creation of a new version of the BitTorrent protocol. On Habré already wrote that this technology has received the name BitTorrent Live and is intended for the organization of video broadcasting through peer-to-peer networks.

Thus, it is possible to organize video broadcasting without any problems, without direct dependence on the servers of a particular company (as it has been done up to now). BitTorrent Live is still in beta, although it is actively developing. So, now BitTorrent Live application for mobile devices will be released.

In this case, the first launch of the application will be held in the alpha version. The application itself will work fine, but BitTorrent Live itself may falter - so far the final version is still far away, although progress has been noticeable at the end of 2012. The main problem stems from the peer-to-peer basis: if a video is viewed by an insufficient number of people, it may either not work at all, or slow down, “lag”.

Official channels work more or less normally, now the problem is in those channels that individual users create.

You can see the channels that exist at the moment here on the developer’s website .
