In Japan, built energy storage of used batteries of electric vehicles

In the world, the number of electric vehicles is increasing every month. Accordingly, the problem of recycling batteries of electric vehicles is becoming ever more urgent after the battery life cycle ends. The Japanese have found an interesting solution to the problem - the creation of energy storage, consisting of such batteries.

The Japanese corporation Sumitomo Corporation together with Nissan has already created such a repository located on the island of Yumeshima, Osaka. This month, the repository will start working, storing the energy produced by the nearby "solar farm". The effectiveness of such a system will be studied in the next few years.

True, the storage itself (600 kW / 400 kW * h) so far consists of only 16 used batteries from electric vehicles. In the future, the number of elements used will increase, and the whole system can be easily scaled. Japanese regulators and various kinds of inspections have already approved the project, so that such a system will be able to work without any problems and obstacles on the part of environmental authorities and other public services.

As far as one can understand, the energy accumulated by the system will be used to charge the same electric vehicles.

The goal of the project is twofold: to draw public attention to the problem of recycling batteries, and also to draw the attention of the same public to electric vehicles. In the future, the project will deal with the organization "4R Energy Corporation", jointly formed by Sumitomo Corporation and Nissan.
