UAE launched a project to use unmanned vehicles for the delivery of important goods

The idea of delivering goods using unmanned robots (quadrocopters are almost always used for this) is becoming popular lately.
At the same time, a similar project is planned to be implemented at the state level in the United Arab Emirates.
On February 10, a prototype of a new unmanned battery quadrocopter was announced here.
Vice-President of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed ibn Rashid al-Maktoum, personally attended the flight tests of the apparatus.

It is planned that the devices will be used for the delivery of small loads and documents, the delivery of which must be completed in a short time (passports, driver's licenses, medicines, etc.).

According to the developer, a quadcopter with a width of 45 centimeters can fly a distance of up to 3 kilometers at a speed of 40 km / h, carry a payload weighing up to 1.5 kg and at the time of release should cost less than 4,000 dirhams (which is approximately equivalent to $ 1,000) . Given the very hot climate of the UAE, the drone is able to withstand the effects of extreme heat and sandstorms.
To protect against unauthorized access to the load, the quadcopter will be equipped with a fingerprint scanner and a recognition system for the unique features of the eye (very popular in the Emirates).
According to the UAE Interior Minister Mohammed al-Gergavi, the test tests of UAVs will be conducted within six months in Dubai, and according to their results the project will be launched across the country.
