In the third vote on the choice of the default initialization system, the Debian GNU / Linux project chose Systemd. Thus, Systemd will now be shipped
in most of the most popular GNU / Linux distributions.
The decision may be revised by conducting a referendum among all Debian developers. The resolution states that in case most Debian developers give preference to an initialization system other than systemd, such a decision will have a higher priority and will be automatically approved by the technical committee. Given the large number of differences in the developer community, the likelihood of holding a general referendum is very high. (

Systemd is the Linux initialization and system management daemon, designed to replace the outdated sysvinit and bsdinit. The daemon uses the capabilities of modern hardware, performing parallel loading of services and spending less resources due to the absence of a command shell layer.
