Yandex opens a development office in Berlin. This is already the 16th office of the company in the world and the third in Western Europe - the first two are located in Zurich and Lucerne. Historically, in Yandex, the development of services and technologies has been distributed across regional offices. Thus, the Taxi service is being developed in Yekaterinburg, Real Estate - in St. Petersburg, speech recognition technology - in Moscow and Zurich.
Employees of the Berlin office will be engaged in the development and research - in this case we are not talking about services for Germany. The first project is connected with the development of new functionality and technologies for the world of Yandex.Maps: vacancies for C ++ developers are already open. In the future, teams will appear in Berlin for other Yandex services.

The place for the new office was not chosen by chance - Berlin is considered one of the world's design centers and gradually becomes the European center of the start-up movement. In this city, an active IT-community and created excellent conditions for life and business development. In addition, there are strong universities in Berlin, such as Technical University, Free University and Humboldt University, whose graduates are interesting to us.
By the end of 2014, Yandex plans to hire 30-40 specialists, mainly from Berlin, as well as other cities of Germany and European countries. Jobs are available at yandex.ru/jobs .
