Global Disaster Map

Leafing through the February issue of Computerra , I came across a small review of sites, among which I was particularly attracted by the heading " Global Incident Map " .
I thought first - “what's this? New soc. network for terrorists? eight)". Fortunately (or, unfortunately?), Was mistaken.

According to the developer Morgan Clements (Morgan Clements), this is “an objective visual reflection of the catastrophes and threats of the modern world . ”
As it is not difficult to guess, the creation works on the GoogleMaps engine.
Now everyone can learn about the next catastrophe happening in the world. Particularly impressive is the mess on the map of North America and the silence in the Russian open spaces surprises.


The map displays about 20 categories of various disasters:
- Airport / Aviation Incidents
- Arson / Fire Incident
- Biological Incidents / Threats / Anthrax Hoaxes etc
- Bomb Incidents / Explosives / Hoax Devices
- Chemical Incident
etc.

Sadly, the most common category is Bomb Incidents ...
