The project University Innopolis announces the extension of the grant competition for training young software developers in Software Engineering for the 2014-2015 academic year in connection with the launch of the program of the President of the Russian Federation - Global Education.

Purpose of the competition
The purpose of the competition is to select talented students and specialists in software development to fill research and teaching positions at Innopolis University, as well as to implement joint projects with partner companies (Parallels, Acronis, Mail.Ru Group, etc.).

In order to improve their professional skills and study international experience, future employees will be trained in the Master of Information Technology - Software Development Management / Software Engineering, MSIT-SE program with partner Carnegie University. Mellon, USA Two semesters of students will be trained in Pittsburgh, and the last semester - in Kazan.

What documents are required to submit an application?
All interested in participating in the competition before February 28, 2014 must provide a full package of documents in electronic form. It includes:
- TOEFL / IELTS language certificate (the result is required until February 28)
- Certificate of the GRE General Exam (desirable)
- Notarized translation of the diploma + scan of the original

- Summary (in English)
- Description of completed projects and your role in them (in English) with clarification of programming experience and participation in team software development
- 3 letters of recommendation:
- one from an industry representative (for example, from your customers or project managers)
- one of the university or academia (for example, from a supervisor, teacher, etc.)
- the third letter can be both “industrial” and “scientific”
All reference letters are also provided in English.
Requirements for academic knowledge
- basic programming skills, as well as the use of an imperative block-structured or object-oriented language: Java, C ++, Ada, C, Flash, etc .;
- practical knowledge of the methods of programming and organization of computer systems;
- deep knowledge of at least two of the following disciplines:
- compiling techniques;
- comparative analysis of programming languages;
- Operating Systems;
- database systems.
