Microsoft at the
Web 2.0 Conference in San Francisco unveiled a demo version of
Photosynth , a new service for processing and viewing photo images. Representatives of the company warn that in this version there may be a lot of errors.
The developers directly at the conference demonstrated how the service processes the photos taken in various places, transforming them into a 3D picture of a certain area. When viewing users can change viewing angles, zoom in and out of the images they need, etc.
In the demo version, Piazza San Marco (Italy) is presented as a kind of gallery through which you can “walk”, considering these or other details. Photosynth automatically analyzes the images, placing them in the correct order, transforming them for viewing at different angles and with different resolutions.

At the moment, developers are working on options for using the new technology and hope that after viewing the service, users will be able to offer their ideas on this. Now the service can not take photos from users: in his collection are photos collected by Microsoft employees. The demo version is available only through
Internet Explorer (6th or 7th version), a high-speed Internet connection is recommended. You can follow the news of the service through a
special blog .
