OST data center on the street. Borovaya is the very first DataLine data center. In 2009, with the opening of two machine rooms in this data center, the company entered the market of commercial data center services. Since its launch, OST has been expanding annually and acquiring new machine rooms. Today, the OST data center is 9 machine rooms (with a total area of ​​2,045 sq. M.) With 903 racks and 250 sq. M. m of office space for reserve offices of customers. It also employs the company's head office, so to speak, on the job.

Some of the machine rooms and engineering rooms (for example, UPS rooms, battery rooms, etc.) are made in the form of a hermetic zone ("house in the house"). This structural solution provides additional physical protection of the equipment against any external influence.
Power supply
As in the NORD data center, the OST data center power supply is reserved according to the 2N scheme: power supply from the city (MKS JSC Mosenergo, district No. 7) is supplied via two input routes to four step-down transformers.
In case of failure of the main power source, the data center automatically switches to power supply using seven diesel generator sets (DGU). DGU oil and antifreeze are constantly in a heated state, thanks to which DGU are constantly ready to start and go into operation in less than a minute. For greater reliability, DGI themselves are reserved according to the N + 1 scheme.
DGU fuel tanks are designed for 6 hours of work, and existing contracts with contractors for prompt delivery of diesel fuel guarantee an indefinitely long work of the data center, even in case of a long-term failure of the city power grid.
While DGS are included in the work, the power supply in the data center is carried out using uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). The battery capacity of the UPS is designed to power the entire data center for 10 minutes.
The OST data center uses UPSs manufactured by APC MGE Galaxy 5000, 6000, 7000 series. UPSs are reserved according to the 2N scheme.
Cooling and climate control system
The OST data center uses two cooling schemes:
1) freon (air conditioners manufactured by Uniflair and external units on the roof of the data center)
2) ethylene glycol (Emicon conditioners with 4 chillers)
Due to the use of ethylene glycol air conditioners, in winter, when the temperature outside the window drops below -5 C, the data center switches to free-cooling mode - natural cooling of the coolant using cold street air. This allows you to increase energy efficiency and keep PUE at lower values.
The air conditioning system is reserved under the scheme N + 1.
In machine rooms, equipment is cooled in the traditional “cold” and “hot” corridors: the cooled air from the indoor air conditioning unit is fed under the raised floor and further, through the perforated raised floor tiles, is blown into the “cold” corridors from the front of the racks.
Security and video surveillance system
Acquaintance with the security system begins from the very threshold of the data center. The 24-hour security service reliably watches the vastness of the OST data center.
Each visitor of the data center, depending on its status (client, visitor or contractor, employee), is given a special pass, This is the color differentiation of the ribbons in our data center.
The access control system (ACS), which protects against unauthorized access to the data center, and the security tele-surveillance system (COT), which provides round-the-clock control of the premises and adjacent territories of the data center, help to maintain the order. By the way, video archives are stored for more than three months.
Finally, the data center is equipped with an alarm (“alarm button”) of the FSUE “Protection” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
But this is not all: to achieve the 80th level of security, an additional fence (cage) can be installed around certain groups of racks. Everything that happens inside can be monitored using additional video cameras, motion sensors and opening / closing racks in your Personal Account.
Fire extinguishing system
The OST data center is equipped with three fire extinguishing stations that provide early detection of the source of fire, warning and automatic extinguishing.
As a fire extinguishing agent, freon 125 is used, which is supplied through pipelines to the protected premises. The automatic gas fire extinguishing system is reserved according to the 2N scheme.
Telecommunication infrastructure
The network infrastructure of the OST data center is reserved on the 2N principle. It has points of presence on MMTS-9 and MMTS-10 and is connected to several traffic exchange points (MSK-IX, DATA-IX, RETN-IX). All nodes are interconnected by reserved fiber-optic communication lines (FOCL).
The data center will have access to the Internet band with a total bandwidth of 75 Gbit / s and channels with a bandwidth of 150 Gbit / s. In the OST data center, a wide range of telecom providers is presented (more than 25).

Monitoring and technical support
In the Monitoring Center, the OST data center (in common with the MCC) on-duty engineers on multiple monitors monitor the power consumption parameters, the condition of the cold-supply systems, and the availability of backup power sources, such as diesel generator sets and UPSs. The duty engineers every 4 hours bypass all the engine rooms and infrastructure facilities.
