For the first time, the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications officially obliged all telecommunication companies, including Internet service providers , to provide the opportunity for the FSB to conduct unlimited and uncontrolled phone tapping and information removal.
The new order, signed by the Minister of Information Technology and Communications Leonid Reiman, covers 16 types of communication services, under license conditions for which the operator’s obligation to ensure the implementation of “operational search activities” is indicated. They must install special equipment that is connected and controlled from a remote control. This console is installed in the FSB and, according to the requirements, it allows you to determine: who and to whom sends the message (phone call, email, SMS, etc.), remove the information itself from the communication channel (i.e. listen to or copy text ), and also determine the location of the subscriber (for cellular communication).
