What features does a student need in a mobile phone?

We work in the company "University Schedule" , we make mobile applications (iOS, Android, Windows Phone), which publishes the training schedule of students and teachers.

For the spring term, we set ourselves a task - to understand what else can be done in our application for students in order to increase its use. We conceived something from the very beginning, users asked us about something, and some ideas arose in the process.

We proceeded as from what we already have - the schedule itself, i.e. couples, time, names of teachers and numbers of audiences, and from what students might still need.

Below is a list of what we already have in the plans. What else do you think would be useful?

Chats

First of all, this is a chat for a group. But if you think further, you can fantasize a whole IRC with chat channels that you can create by specifying a target audience: university, faculty, course; and topics: buy-sell, party, help in studying, etc. We thought about the bulletin board, but in the end we came to the conclusion that such a chat system is more convenient.

Share task

Now there is an opportunity to put the task to the pair, there attach a photo and text. But for now this can be done only for oneself. Many people asked, and from the very beginning we were aiming to have the opportunity to make these tasks common to the whole study group.

Comments to the pair

Probably, this can be combined with tasks, and maybe done instead. In fact, just a field where you can leave a text comment about the last (or going) pair.

Couple ratings

You can like a pair. Likes of different users are summarized. In the future, you can make a rating system on this basis.

Couple reminder

An alarm clock that automatically reminds of the beginning of a couple in 5 minutes (the time can be changed in the settings). If possible, add an automatic transition to vibrate mode at the beginning of a pair.

University Guide

Phone numbers, email deans and the like. To fill the content with such a section for each university, we, truthfully, cannot do it anyway, but it is possible to provide such an opportunity for students or the university itself.

University news and tape events

Make a section, which will be automatically broadcast news of the university in the form of headlines and announcements via RSS or parsing the university's twitter. For events, you can make a separate tape, and you can embed in the schedule itself (or news).

Anonymous ads to a user or group

The bottom line is that you can hang an anonymous message in the group schedule tape or a specific user. In this case, I would like not only text, but also a picture (sticker). If desired - not anonymous. We assume that it can be used, at least, for congratulations on holidays. For example, Happy Valentine's Day.

Discounts on the card

There are several companies that aggregate student discounts (ISIC, ELKA). You can make a section where these discounts are displayed on the map.

Work and internships

After seeing a brief description of a vacancy or internship provided by the relevant service, the student can send the details to himself by email. Here you can also include offers for study abroad.

Among other things, we are currently working on the possibility of students' independent editing of the schedule and authorization. They came to the conclusion that without authorization, you will not do much with further development.
