Everyone knows that for the most effective solution to all problems of your software, you need a competent bug report and the corresponding logs. But, often, users do not provide comprehensive and high-quality information about errors, so you have to manage with what you have. It happened in this case as well: a certain user
mdickie sent a screenshot of the log that kept the secret of the hang of our OS on his computer. But the photo turned out to be of
extremely poor quality , so that part of the text could be disassembled with difficulty, and the rest of the text could not be disassembled at all.
yogev_ezra tried to improve the quality using image processing programs, but
almost without success .
Then we
decided to hold a contest on Habré , the essence of which was that any Habr reader can try to improve the original blurred photo using any image processing program, and publish his result. The reader who has achieved the best result is awaited by a prize - a branded USB flash drive and a
KolibriOS t-shirt (including shipment to the address specified by the winner). Processed photos were to be posted
in the comments to the post with the competition , or on our forum (
in the topic where the original photo was ), until September 17, 2013 at 24:00 GMT.
(Be careful, traffic - under the cut a lot of photos) Of all the submitted photos, we promised to select 10, and vote for the best of them. Only 11 applications were received, but, unfortunately, most of the participants did not fulfill the conditions of the competition:
- 3 participants sent photos in a personal message (2 - on our forum, 1 - on Habré), instead of posting photos in the comments on Habré or in the forum thread, as required
- 1 participant (of those who sent a photo in a personal message), did it after September 17, 2013.
- Only 4 participants out of 11 indicated which programs and which settings they used.
In addition, various people published several fragments of photos that we did not consider applications, as it was required to process the whole photo. As a result, only 4 people have fully complied with all the rules, for which I want to tell them a special thank you:

After long meetings, we decided not to punish violators of the rules with an exception from the contest (otherwise, there would be only 4 participants left), and put all 11 applications to the vote (which is not much different from the original plan to select 10 applications). But we would be very grateful if the rules were carried out in future competitions held by us.
So, the candidates:@ x128k1b0rgA photo

Two results, because two levels of "blurring". In the first version, the middle of the text is better readable; in the second, the upper and lower parts of the photo.
Used:
Adobe Photoshop CS2;
SmartDeblur-1.27;
and, oddly enough, Autodesk 3Ds Max 2013 + Vray.
