Astrophysicist made "home supercomputer" of 16 game consoles

Most buyers use the Sony PlayStation 3 for gaming and high-definition video playback. Otherwise, the astrophysicist Gourav Khanna ordered the impressive computing capabilities of the gaming console built on the multi-core Cell processor.

The scientist united 16 consoles, some of which were provided to the experimenter by Sony, to the "home supercomputer". It is noteworthy that it was not necessary to make any modifications to the design of consoles. The devices are connected to a cluster using a Gigabit Ethernet switch and are running Linux.
