Blog spam changes goals and tactics

Probably, there is not a single more or less popular blogger who has not encountered spam in the comments.

The fight against them is quite simple: Wordpress can send for pre-moderation or immediately nail comments with certain words, as well as comments with more than two links. In addition, even a simple captcha (this is such a picture with clumsy letters, as I have in the comments), most spambots stop.

Posting links manually and spamming in the "name" field only works with those who don't follow their blogs at all.

These goblins are sent to the firebox along with their comments with a couple of mouse clicks. The next couple of clicks their URL is blacklisted.

Pseudoblogs: they mimic people

Since spam by “keywords” is very easily detected and destroyed by bloggers, spammers have changed their goals and tactics. False "blogs" of two kinds began to appear.

Thematic pseudoblogs. It puts "WordPress", calls it a name, for example, a "blog about diapers" or a "blog about SEO", clogged with stolen "articles". Material is stolen from everywhere: from other blogs, from news, from Wikipedia, from magazines.

Sometimes these articles are subject to the so-called "rewriting". On the stock exchanges, "copywriting" is full of poor, who for 50 cents will process a thousand characters of the text, replacing words with synonyms, changing places of sentences, and sometimes retelling something .

In the “name” field, you type something like “diaper blog”, “marketing specialist”, or “SEO notes”.

Pseudo-human pseudo-blogs. Since thematic pseudo-blogs are relatively easy to recognize, spammers began to disguise themselves as people. A pseudo-blog of, say, “Ivan Zadrishchensky” is established, and all the same stolen and “re-leased” materials fall into it. Recently, just three such compartment.

The calculation is simple: the blogger will not nail the link to the blog of a living person. And with some it works.

Why do they need it?

You will ask: “If they do not enter keywords in the link, then why do they need it?” Everything is simple. In pseudo-blogs, TIC and PageRank are “pumped”, and then links from them are sold or used for “promotion”.

What do we do?

That we will do with it, I will tell in the following notes. While you can read a little about the evolution of spam blogs

Update:
The list of top blogs that were ordered by commenters. I advise you to proactively ban the nickname BlackEvil, as well as the IP 195.160.245.150 - with it I caught repeated attempts to slip through my blogs.
