Google has provided a tool to transfer Chrome applications to Android

This is not the first talk about the possibility of transferring Chrome applications to mobile devices. However, this time a tool has been released that will allow developers to go further. Google announces a toolkit based on Apache Cordova. In simple words, these tools will allow developers to “wrap” Chrome applications so that they can be distributed through the Google Play store.

Google tells how the process of wrapping up Chrome applications in the native extension will occur. Developers will have the opportunity to build mobile applications using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Google also provides an example of how it will look. The picture above shows the application running on Mac and Android.

Developers will have several options for how to do this. Applications can be run both on a real device and on an emulator. Google also said that they made it possible to use the “many core” Chrome APIs to access the mobile device.

The APIs allow you to use OAuth2 authentication, make payments, access the file store on Google Drive, and more. For example, interact with push messages and notifications.

All that has been said says that Google is expanding the use of Chrome applications now on mobile devices. Now Google offers developers to familiarize themselves with new features, and end users will have to wait a bit before seeing Chrome apps packaged for Google Play.
