Beta testing "Freelance 2.0"

Hello customers and performers! Since the launch of "Freelance" a little over a year has passed. Without leaving the status of beta, today we announce the transition of the project to version 2.0.

What's new in Freelance 2.0?

New design

Despite the fact that many people like the “light” design of the first version of the site, we still dare to make a redesign taking into account the new style that penetrates all our projects since the end of last year. So we liked the style of flat, a few long shadows - as it seems to us, the site did not become "heavier".

Moreover, we abandoned the horizontal menu in favor of the vertical one: this is a much more scalable version, which has already allowed to accommodate much more functions than it was before. Yes, and you can get to the necessary section much faster - fewer clicks from almost any page of the site with twice the increased page rendering speed.

Tracker

A thing called “tracker” is already on almost all our projects. If we talk about "Freelance", then earlier activity in orders (new freelancers and customer responses) had to be tracked mainly by the multi-colored "flags" in the lists, now everything has become much more convenient: a separate section (with a division of activities by type) and all the same visual indication (this time in the form of blue bars).

Already during the tests inside the company, it became obvious to everyone how much more economical in terms of time, more convenient and more familiar (for other projects) to users. You just need to get used to it.

Long-awaited portfolio and recommendations

Why did we not make a portfolio and reviews on the site before? Because, looking at the experience of other freelance exchanges, we realized that at the moment it is very difficult and costly to come up with some kind of understandable and objective rating system and non-boosted feedback system. Yes, and the portfolio in this case would be a heap, while we have always been for the simplicity of design.

For this reason, we launched Brainstorage - a professional network for people working in the information technology industry. Having created a profile in Brainstorage , you can comfortably accommodate anything you want: work experience, portfolio, recommendations, and everything, everything that every specialist will deem necessary.

The TM ID service for pass-through authorization between our projects allowed us to begin the close integration of our projects with each other. Thus, importing to the “Freelance” portfolio and recommendations from Brainstorage, the experience from “Habr” and “Toaster” became one of the first steps towards creating an ecosystem in which each user uses one account on all projects.

Looking ahead, we inform you that there is still no rating for freelancers and customers, you should still rely only on yourself: on your experience, reputation and sense.

Subscription

This news may upset someone, but we hope for your understanding. The fact is that from now on the site for all users will work on a paid subscription. The cost of which is 3 wrappers per month (only 300 rubles).

The subscription allows you to use the service in full: customers will be able to place orders, freelancers - to respond to them, use the instant mailing of new orders and everything else that will appear on the service later. Separately, you will have to pay only for the desire to stand out from the crowd - highlighting / raising orders and questionnaires in general lists.

But there is a spoon of honey. We donated all the registered users of the site to this post by the month of the subscription (so that we could try out the new features). And those users who have the “Author”, “Star”, “Legend” or “Old-Timer” icons on “Habré” (provided that they linked accounts with TM ID ), we give a paid subscription for 100 years. If this is not enough, in 100 years we are ready to renew this subscription.

A more complete list of changes can be viewed on a separate page of the project.
