The biggest battle in the history of EVE Online: destroyed ships at $ 200,000

On January 27-28, 2014, EVE Online hosted the biggest battle in its ten-year history. The main battle involved 5283 ships. The total value of the destroyed property is estimated at 8 trillion ISK, which equals approximately $ 200,000 at the current exchange rate. 72 “titans” were destroyed - these are the most massive ships, the most expensive of which Kan’s Erebus cost ISK 222 billion ($ 5,500).

Surprisingly, the giant battle began, in its own way, by mistake. Pandemic Legion Group forgot to pay rent and lost control of the B-R5RB star system. The first was the fleet of the Russian alliance, which declared sovereignty and began to build defenses, preparing to repel the inevitable attack. The system instantly flew ships from all unguarded space.

Although the battle was not planned, but the opponents knew each other well, because the war between the N3PL and CFC / RUS groups has been going on since October 2013.

The battle lasted more than 15 hours, each game second was cheated for 10 seconds of real time.

The alliance CFC / RUS, which includes the Russian bloc, emerged victorious from persistent battle. CFC / RUS losses amounted to 14 titans. The N3PL Alliance lost 58 titans and at a certain stage lost the ability to destroy the enemy's titans, so the remaining forces had nothing to do but try to flee (unsuccessfully). At the last stage, the battle turned into finishing off the remaining enemy forces for the sake of loot.

The battle of January 27-28 with destroyed property by 8 trillion ISK and 72 blown-up titans far exceeds the previous record battle, where losses amounted to 1 trillion ISK and 12 titans.
