Google and AOL expand the capabilities of their instant messengers

Google and AOL in an effort to popularize their messengers expand the possibilities of embedding them in certain sites.

The other day in the social network Orkut the opportunity to integrate a Google Talk account with a user account in this network. Now you can invite other users to communicate via the instant messenger directly from the service pages, and their names are displayed next to the names of users who have already been added to the GTalk contact list (Online, Busy, Offline). It is worth recalling that for communication in GTalk, recently a GMail account is not required, and to create an account in Orkut does not require an invitation from another user.

AOL (part of Time Warner Corporation), meanwhile, has released a beta version of the API and widgets for embedding its AIM messenger into the interface of third-party sites. In particular, the creators of network services will be able to integrate into their sites a window for communication in AIM and a list of contacts showing their status.
