Panorama of the Moon from "Chang'e 3" and the failure of the main color camera of the landing module

Despite the weekend, news from the Chinese vehicles, Chanye 3 (landing station) and Yuytu (the lunar rover itself) come from the moon. So, as for the landing station, its main color camera failed, unable to withstand the moonlit night. Actually, Chinese scientists were expecting a similar development of events, so there is no need to talk about any emergency. However, photographs similar to those sent earlier cannot be taken by the landing station.

Both spacecraft most recently entered service mode after the end of the lunar Night. The devices can work only in the presence of sunlight, since they receive energy for the operating mode by means of solar panels.

It is worth recalling that the mission "Chang'e-3" is the third stage of the lunar Chinese program. The next step will be to obtain samples of lunar soil and deliver it to Earth. The program is scheduled for completion by 2020, that is, after 6 years.
